The office of U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) is currently accepting applications for his 2017-18 High School Internship Program.

The program provides a hands-on learning opportunity about the U.S. Senate and encourages students to be advocates in their schools and communities.

“Each year, I look forward to the new ideas and perspectives that our high school interns bring to the office,” said Sen. Schatz. “I encourage anyone who wants to help make a difference in their community to apply to join our team.”

High school interns will be selected based on their community involvement, diversity of interests and life experiences and demonstrated leadership. This is not an office position and students should miss little or no class time completing assignments related to the program. The program uses online communication methods, so students from all islands are encouraged to apply.

For more information or to apply, visit www.schatz.senate.gov/services/internships. Applications must be submitted before 6 p.m. HST on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017.

Interested students are encouraged to apply early. Call (808)523-2061 with any questions.
