The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation had closed of Richardson Ocean Park Monday through Friday, Aug. 14 to 18, 2017, for routine maintenance of trees along the shoreline.
The park opened a day earlier than anticipated on Thursday, Aug. 17.
Some called the tree maintenance a “major makeover,” saying the beach area looks much different.
