Big Island Surf Forecast
Hilo side: Surf heights are expected to be waist/chest/shoulder high today.
Kona side: Surf heights are expected to be knee/thigh high today.
South: Surf heights are expected to be knee/thigh high today.
Our current small south swell is expected to ease on Monday. A new south-southwest is forecast to fill in and build through Tuesday but only up to about waist high. Wednesday swell will slowly fade out. South-southeast swell is forecast for the second part of the work week and into the weekend… but pretty small. Nothing significant is forecast out of the South Pacific at this time.
Trade swell is forecast to hang around through the work week as trade winds will stay at moderate to breezy levels through the week.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
