Boat Capsizes Off Kaloli Point

A rescue boat, chopper, fire engines and medical units responded to a report of A capsized vessel offshore of Kaloli Point or Hilo Bay today at 11:10 a.m.
Responders were unable to locate vessel in Hilo Bay, but found a 20-foot Bayliner partially submerged in the ocean 1/4 mile from shoreline in the area of Kaloli Point with two occupants treading water beside it.
Both parties were safely rescued and assisted to a safe area.
No injuries were reported.
The US Coast Guard will arrange salvage of the boat with owner.
