A luxury home in Holualoa is among the winners of this year’s HGTV.com Ultimate House Hunt.

Listed by Hawai‘i Life’s Carrie Nicholson, the home won by popular vote for the “Outdoor Retreats” category in the month-long online promotional contest. It is listed for $14.5 million and was designed by Lucky Bennett.

The home sits on a 90-acre plot on the western slope of Hualalai volcano with expansive views of the Kona coastline. There are three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in the 5,391 square-foot main residence, with soaring ceilings and broad transom windows throughout. The kitchen is adorned in koa cabinetry and black granite countertops with a separate bar and refrigerated walk-in wine room. The master bedroom is located on a wing of the central living area, with an adjoining office and outdoor shower. The second floor has two additional guest bedrooms with private entrances and a secondary spiral staircase that winds down to the poolside lanai.

Outside there are numerous recreational facilities including two pools, a spa, bocce ball court, driving range and tennis court. The expansive landscape features a wealth of fruiting plants and trees including citrus, macadamia nut, pineapple, papaya, jacaranda, coffee and orange tangelo. There is also an Imu pit to host traditional-style luaus. The home also has a lush courtyard of well-established koi ponds and a waterfall.

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Luxury Portfolio International announced the winners of the HGTV.com contest which ended on July 19, 2017. Over 1.1 million votes were cast.
