Public Libraries Hosting Hardware Science DIY Events for Kids

Local children will have the opportunity to learn how to “do-it-yourself” and “discover-it-yourself” at six Hawaiʻi Island public libraries from June 29 to July 12 as part of the Hawaiʻi State Public Library Systems’ (HSPLS) 2017 Summer Reading Program.

HouseMart Ace Hardware and HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts will present a free Hardware Science program at the following locations based on this year’s theme, “Build a Better World.” Children ages five and older and their families are invited to enjoy the fun and interactive activities that focus on building and science.

  • July 5, 10 a.m. – Mountain View Public & School Library
  • July 6, 10 a.m. – Thelma Parker Memorial Public & School Library
  • July 7, 11 a.m. – Kealakelua Public Library
  • July 8, 2 p.m. – Hilo Public Library
  • July 12, 10 a.m. –Keaʻau Public & School Library

The program schedule is subject to change. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
