Pāhoa Fire Destroys House Under Construction

FireDepartmentLogoThe Hawai‘i County Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire in Pāhoa on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Firefighters arrived at 10:22 p.m. to find a 3,264-square-foot, two-story structure at 15-2836 Pāhoa Village Road fully engulfed in flames.

The vacant structure, which was under construction/remodel, was not occupied.

A smaller structure on the property was threatened, but the fire was contained to the larger structure and extinguished at 11:30 p.m.

Damage was estimated at $32,6400. The value of the saved structure was estimated at $2,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
