Pōhakuloa Training Area Schedule for June 2017

Military units are scheduled to conduct various types of training at the Pōhakuloa Training Area in June 2017 that may be heard or observed by the surrounding communities.

The US Army is set to construct an advanced training course at PTA on the Big Island.

This PTA announcement is intended to alert neighbors of upcoming training activities that are louder in nature and may be heard or noticed outside the military installation.

This information is provided for general awareness and may not include all training activity; times and dates are subject to change.

June 2-30: The Army will conduct mortar live fire training


June 4-30: The Army will conduct mortar live fire training

June 5-23: The Marines will conduct helicopter gunnery; noise from aircraft and weaponry

June 10-24: The Hawai‘i Army National Guard will conduct artillery live-fire exercises

June 9-30: The Army will conduct artillery live-fire exercise

June 19-30: The Army will conduct mounted life-fire exercise

The military in Hawai‘i appreciates the understanding and continued support of its local military training.

While sometimes loud, the sounds and sights of training demonstrate how the military ensures that its service members are ready to accomplish the mission and return home safely.
