Hit and Run Breaks Gas Line in Hilo

The Hawai‘i County Fire department arrived at 6:10 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in response to a report of a gas leak at the Ocean Front Kitchen on Kalanianaole Street in Hilo.
The fire department reported that a vehicle hit and broke a 2-inch municipal gas line/valve that fed the business, then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
The Hawai‘i County Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials units were on the scene to monitor and clearance for the business to resume operations after The Gas Company stopped the leak.
