Students interested in the new Veterinary Assisting Program being offered on Hawai‘i Island in the fall are invited to attend an information session at the Hawai‘i Community College–Pālamanui campus in Kona.

The Windward Community College program is being offered on Hawai‘i Island in partnership with HCC–Pālamanui.

The Certificate of Achievement in Veterinary Assisting on Hawai‘i Island—offered from August 2017 through May 2018—is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills required to perform effectively as an assistant in a veterinarian’s office, animal shelter or animal research facility.

The two-semester, 31-credit hybrid program includes online coursework in the life sciences, as well as hands-on experience through labs and internships at local veterinary clinics.

Interested students can attend a free information session on Tuesday, March 21; Tuesday, April 11; or Monday, May 1; at the HCC–Pālamanui campus in Kona in Koali Room A101 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
