Heiva I Hawaii Polynesian Cultural Fest
Te ‘E‘a O Te Turama and Fun to Jump Kona will present Heiva I Hawaii 2017 on Feb.17, 18 and 19 at Kekuaokalani Gymnasium in Kailua-Kona.
Admission is free all weekend long.
In this the sixth year of this exciting event, Te ‘E‘a O Te Turama once again hosts amazing groups from all over Hawai‘i Island and shares the cultural dance and music traditions of our tupuna (Maori for ancestor).
From riveting drum dances to melodic ‘ahuroa, cultural artisans and one-of-a-kine grinds, this is one event you don’t want to miss!
Friday night will feature the Mr. & Miss Heiva I Hawaii Beauty Pageant from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tahitian dance solo, couple and group competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with Polynesian artists and crafters; food vendors; and Fun to Jump, Kona’s inflatables and rock wall climbing.
The drums are loud, the hips are shaking and the Polynesian culture is alive and well in Kailua-Kona.
Join in all the fun at Heiva I Hawai`i 2017, mauruuruu (thank you)!
