Marine Weather Statement: A large north-northwest swell will shift around to the north-northeast through Wednesday. This will impact Hilo harbor with moderate harbor surges and large breaking waves at the harbor entrance. Mariners should use extreme caution when entering or leaving port and when mooring or launching vessels.

Looking Ahead
Gusty trade winds are forecast to continue into Tuesday with dry, cool conditions expected through Wednesday as winds veer to the east and gradually decrease in speed. Winds are forecast to become light and veer out of the south Thursday and Friday. A strong front with increasing southwest winds could affect the islands this weekend.
