Pāhoa Blaze Destroys Unpermitted Residence

All units responded to report of a structure fire at 15-1358 Kaohuwalu Drive in Pāhoa on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Fire department personnel arrived on the scene at 10:11 p.m. and found a 15-by-30-square-foot, unpermitted residential structure fully engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished at 10:40 p.m.
No occupants were at home and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Damages are estimated at $10,000.
