HOVE Fire Destroys Abandoned Structure

Hawai‘i County Fire Department personnel responded to the report of a fire at Koa Lane and Lei Parkway Intersection in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates at 12:11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan.5.
Company 20 arrived on the scene of a single-story residential structure that was approximately 600 square feet and fully engulfed in flames.
The dwelling appeared to have been abandoned.
The fire was under control about an hour later and finally extinguished approximately two hours later.
No injuries were reported.

The structure was a total loss. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
