Fire Department Battles Hilo Structure Blaze

Hawai‘i Fire Department personnel responded to a structure blaze at 100 Kulaniapia Road in Hilo at 8:38 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2016.
HFD arrived on scene and found a 20-by-40-foot single-story structure fully involved in flames.
The vacant post-and-pier house is in a remote location and no one was living in the dwelling.
The fire was extinguished at 9:15 p.m.

The cost of the fire damage will be determined.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
