AARP Offers Free Financial Planning Workshop
In response to requests from residents looking for information on how to map out their financial future, AARP Hawaii is hosting a free workshop on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hilo Aging and Disability Resource Center in Hilo.
Many factors are involved in managing your money, and it can be hard to separate wants from needs and personal expenses from professional. Where does one start, especially if planning is beginning a bit later in life?
AARP volunteer Joanna Amberger, CFP, will lead the two-hour financial planning workshop in an intimate setting that will allow for questions.
Attendees will learn the difference between different types of investment options and how to factor in both time and comfort with risk when making financial decisions.
Residents can register online at or call 1-877-926-8300 toll-free).
Snacks and event materials will be provided.
AARP is also looking for additional volunteers to assist with carrying out this event. Volunteers can contact Jackie Boland at jboland@aarp.org.
