A  J.D. Power study revealed that Kaiser Permanente has been named the highest-ranked Medicare Advantage health plan by its members for the second year.

The second annual Medicare Advantage Study examined the experiences of nearly 3,500 members of the nation’s 10 largest Medicare Advantage plans, with Kaiser Permanente scoring 851 out of a possible 1,000 points.

Medicare Advantage plan members were asked their level of satisfaction in these key areas: coverage and benefits, provider choice, customer service, information and communication, cost and claims processing.

Kaiser Permanente’s plan members rated their plan 61 points above the market average and 60 points above the next highest rated plan.

“Providing excellent care and services to keep our kupuna healthy is a top priority, so we’re proud that our Medicare Advantage members have honored us with the highest customer satisfaction rating,” said Mary Ann Barnes, RN, president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals Hawai‘i Region. “Our highest ranking is a demonstration to the commitment of our physicians, nurses, care teams and employees to provide high-quality healthcare and personalized, seamless service to our members.”

In addition, J.D. Power, national market research company, ranked Kaiser Permanente’s mail-order pharmacy highest in customer satisfaction for seven out of eight years in a row in its 2016 U.S. Pharmacy Study.

The study ranks organizations in four categories: cost competitiveness, prescription delivery, prescription ordering process and customer service experience—to provide an overall measure of customer satisfaction.

Kaiser Permanente members can take advantage of the mail-order pharmacy service by phone, My Health Manager on kp.org, or the Kaiser Permanente mobile app.

In 2015, the service delivered 395,568 prescriptions directly to Kaiser Permanente members’ homes.
