The Salvation Army’s family thrift store, The Sally Shop in Hilo, will sell rare Admission Day newspapers on Friday, Aug. 19, as part of a special sale for Hawai‘i’s observances of Admission Day 2016.

The newspapers are dated from March 12 to August 21, 1959, from the Hilo Tribune-Herald, the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

The issues document the milestones toward Hawai‘i becoming the 50th state of the United States.
