Pacific Media Group Sponsors HIplan Competition
HIplan organizers have selected Pacific Media Group as the official media sponsor of its upcoming Hawai‘i Island Business Plan Competition, which will be held at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo this fall.
“With entrepreneurship being such a vital component of our local economy, we are honored to be a part of this exciting competition,” said Jack Dugan, COO of Pacific Media Group, a Hawai‘i-based media company with offices in Kahului, Hilo and Kona.
The competition is co-chaired by Jim Wyban and Kelly Moran, longtime Hawai‘i Island entrepreneurs.
The event is co-hosted by UH Hilo and Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce.
The purpose of competition is to stimulate an entrepreneurial ecosystem on Hawai‘i Island to create new and improved jobs for the island’s young people—including UH Hilo grads.
The competition will offer $25,000 in seed money to the winning business plan. The winner will also be interviewed on air with KBIG’s Wake Up & Drive Show, a PMG radio station based in Hilo.
The competition is open to any individual or group (for-profit or nonprofit) whose business plan focuses on developing a startup or expansion of an existing business based on Hawai‘i Island.
Entrants must submit a seven-page written business plan based on HIplan’s outline by Sept. 1.
The entry fee for the competition is $100; entries are now being accepted.
The competition will offer $25,000 in seed money to the first-place business plan. The winner will also be interviewed on air with KBIG’s Wake Up & Drive Show, a PMG radio station based in Hilo.
