The first Hawai‘i County first mayoral candidate forum of the 2016 election year will be held on Wednesday, June 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Kealakehe High School Cafeteria in Kailua-Kona.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Community Enterprises of Kona and as part of the West Hawaii Forum Series, is sponsoring the event.

The candidates will share their vision and plans for the County of Hawai`i.

Sherry Bracken of Mahalo Multimedia will serve as forum moderator.

All registered candidates have been invited and are welcomed to display their literature.

Confirmed on-stage candidate panelists will include Paul Bryant of Papa‘aloa, Marlene Hapai of Kurtistown, Pete Hoffman of Waikoloa, Harry Kim of Hilo, Wally Lau of Kailua-Kona, Shannon McCandless of Kamuela, Timothy Waugh of Hilo and Eric Drake Weinert Jr. of Papaikou.

Water, chili and rice will be for sale from the Kealakehe Girls Softball team.

Sign waving or placing campaign signs at Kealakehe High School is not allowed.
