Firefighters Douse House Blaze in Pāhoa

Fire Department personnel extinguished a carport fire Thursday night in Pahoa.

The Hawai‘i County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Pāhoa on Saturday, June 4.

The alarm sounded at 10:23 a.m. The first unit arrived on the scene at 10:42 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a one-story home fully involved in flames.

The fire was brought under control at 11:10 a.m. and was extinguished at 11:30 a.m.

The home was not occupied; no one was injured.

Damage was estimated at $130,000.
