O‘ahu Inmate Fails to Return After Work

Work furlough program inmate Lloyd Schmitt failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on O‘ahu after work last night.
Schmitt left yesterday morning and was supposed to return by 7:30 p.m. State sheriffs and Honolulu police were notified.
Schmitt was serving time for Theft 2, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle and Promoting a Dangerous Drug 3. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges.
Schmitt, 38, is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level. He is 5’7” and weighs 260 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
