The Food Basket, Hawai’i Island’s Food Bank’s Board of Directors will host the first annual “Blue Hawai’i” event at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows on Friday, May 6. It is a partnered event between The Food Basket and Healthway’s Blue Zones Project.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and will raise funds for those who are hungry on the Big Island.

“Together, we can find new ways to overcome the problem of hunger in our Hawai’i Island communities and continue to improve our well-being with access to healthy food,” said Haidee Abe, The Basket Board of Directors Chair.

Tom Whittemore will be featured as the evening’s special guest, and Kuleana will perform a Hawaiian falsetto.

Tickets are $100 per person and will include seasonally inspired dishes with produce from the Big Island and can be purchased online.
