Authorities Renew Information Request in January Puna Robbery

badgeThe Hawai’i Police Department has renewed its request for information in a January robbery incident that took place in Puna.

On Jan. 26, a 30-year-old woman was checking her mailbox on Paradise Drive and 21st Avenue between 8:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. when a man with a knife confronted her.

The unknown man demanded money and fled into the bushes after removing cash from the victim’s wallet.

Police say the suspect was described as being in his mid-20’s and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. He had short brown hair and a tan complexion. The man was also noted to be wearing a grey or white tank top and black shorts.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact the Police Department’s non-emergency line by calling 935-3311 or reach Detective Clarence Davies directly by calling 961-2383 or e-mailing [email protected].
