Hawai’i Electric Light infrastructure upgrades will cause a single-lane closure along Kaiwi Street in Kailua-Kona this week.

The closure began Monday morning at 8 a.m. and will run through Friday, April 15.

Daily work will close Kaiwi Street between Kuakini Highway and Luhia Street in Kailua-Kona from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Hawai’i Electric Light crews will replace five transmission poles in the Kona Industrial Area.

Delays in the area are anticipated and motorists should use alternate routes, if possible.
