Waiakea Alum Earns MPSF All-Academic Honor in Swimming

University of Hawai’i swimmer Madi Uekawa was one of 12 Rainbow Wahine swimmers and divers to be named to the 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation’s Women’s Swimming & Diving All-Academic team.

Throughout the MPSF, 85 individuals from seven conference schools were recognized. In order to qualify, each student-athlete must obtain a 3.00 cumulative grade point average or better, be at least a sophomore, complete a full academic year at their school, and participate in at least half of the school’s competitions.

Uekawa, a graduate of Waiakea High School, earned a 4.00 GPA. The UH junior swims in breast stroke events.
