Medeiros, a first round selection by Milwaukee in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft, is ranked by the club as its seventh-best prospect in the organization. The team projects him to reach the majors by the 2018 season.

Brevard County has not announced whether Medeiros will open the season as a starter or as a reliever.

The season opens for Brevard County on Thursday night at the Daytona Tortugas. The Manatees compete in the Florida Coast League.
