Wednesday night’s Big Island Interscholastic Federation boys volleyball matches between Kohala and Hawai’i Preparatory Academy has been postponed because of rain damage to HPA’s Castle Gymnasium.

HPA Athletic Director Stephen Perry told Big Island Now that the damage was caused by heavy rain. Perry said that he was informed that heavy rain caused leaks that allowed water into the gymnasium floor and caused some of the floor to warp slightly.

Both teams have agreed to reschedule the match to Saturday night at 6 p.m., beginning with the junior varsity match. The varsity matchup will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the JV match.
