HEPA Accepting Scholarship Applications
Five college scholarships, each worth $1,000, are up for grabs.
The funds are from the Hawai’i Emergency Physicians Associated, Inc., the physicians who staff the Hilo Medical Center’s emergency room and Hale Ho’ola Hamakua in Honoka’a.
Four of the scholarships will go to students in Hilo, while one is reserved for a Honoka’a student.
Scholarships are being offered to qualified students who are in need of funds to attend college, due to financial or family hardship.
Eligibility requirements include compelling financial need, East Hawai’i residency, being a full-time classified student during the scholarship year, and a graduating high school student.
Students can obtain application forms at the Hilo Medical Center Administration office, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua’s Administration office, or download them online.
Applications and all required documents are due by Monday, May 16, and should include the application form, photo copy of most recent report card or transcripts, SAR report or FAFSA application, and two letters of reference from teachers, counselors, or individuals who know your character.
