Five college scholarships, each worth $1,000, are up for grabs.

The funds are from the Hawai’i Emergency Physicians Associated, Inc., the physicians who staff the Hilo Medical Center’s emergency room and Hale Ho’ola Hamakua in Honoka’a.

Four of the scholarships will go to students in Hilo, while one is reserved for a Honoka’a student.
