Looking Ahead

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

Winds will weaken and veer to the southeast Monday with light south winds then prevailing through the rest of the week. Clouds and showers will favor windward areas through early Monday, with increased chances for leeward and interior clouds and showers from Monday afternoon through Friday. Some of these showers could become heavy, with a slight chance of thunderstorms Tuesday, as moisture increases and the atmosphere becomes unstable. Light winds will continue into next weekend, when a somewhat drier weather pattern may develop.

Today

Today we expect mostly cloudy skies with showers likely in the morning for windward and mauka spots and partly cloudy skies and scattered showers in the afternoon. The Kona side is expected to be mostly clear in the morning with building cloud cover in the afternoon and the possibility of scattered showers. Humidity levels are expected to rise today with areas of haze. Northeast winds are forecast from 10 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 80° to 85°.
