DWS: Hilo Hydrant Flow Test Scheduled for Monday

A fire hydrant flow test is scheduled within the Keaukaha Military Reservation on Monday.

The flow test is expected to last for a one-hour time frame, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Customers within the Keaukaha Military Reservation and along Kekuanoa Street, also known as the airport road, between Kanoelehua Avenue and Hilo International Airport, including Mokuea Street, Akahana Street, ‘Ailolo Street, Lele’aoa Street, and Kekuana’o Place, may be impacted by the test.

Slightly discolored and turbid water may occur for several hours after the test.

The Department of Water Supply advises that customers refrain from washing clothing and prepare for drinking water needs by storing a container of water to use until it returns to normal.
