A Small Craft Advisory is posted for leeward waters of the Big Island through 6 a.m. Friday. The ʻAlenuihāhā channel and windward waters are under a more urgent Gale Warning.
A Wind Advisory is also posted through 6 a.m. Friday for the Kohala area and along the east coast of the Big Island. The advisory could be extended if conditions persist.

Looking Ahead
Cool and breezy conditions should continue the next few days with limited showers focusing over windward and mauka spots through the weekend. Trade winds are forecast to decrease to moderate levels with variable winds expected Monday before a front passes through the islands Tuesday bringing a brief bout of rain. Cool and breezy conditions will return midweek after the frontal passage.

Today we expect partly sunny skies with scattered showers in windward spots. Windy conditions are forecast with 15 to 30 mph northeast winds gusting to 45 mph. High temperatures from 80° to 85°.

Northeast winds are expected from 15 to 30 mph with higher gusts. Scattered windward and mauka showers are forecast. Low temperatures from 66° to 71°.
