County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works altered Google maps image.

Permanent restriping of Kaumana Drive from Akolea Road to the Puainako Extension resumed Friday morning and is expected to last through Friday, March 18.

The County of Hawai’i Department of Public Works Traffic Division is completing the work, weather and construction conditions permitting.

According to DPW, an alternating lane closure will be in effect as the work is conducted, and a minimum of one lane of travel will flow throughout the duration of the project.

Road work will not take place over the weekend.

Motorists in the area should drive with caution and expect delays.
