Hilo side: Wave heights for spots exposed to the large swell are expected to be knee/shoulder high today. Spots without direct exposure will be smaller.
Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be waist/shoulder high today with the best breaks brining in head high waves.
South: Wave heights are expected to be waist/head high today at the best breaks.
Our current west-northwest swell is expected to hold through Monday at the best exposures before beginning to fade through the afternoon and into Tuesday. A smaller swell is expected to fill in mid week.
An early season bump is filling in today and peaking Tuesday before fading for southern exposures. Waist/shoulder high sets are possible with this swell. Another swell is on its heels for next weekend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
