DWS: Fire Hydrant Flow Test Scheduled in Hilo

fire hydrantA fire hydrant flow test on Kuhio Street in Hilo may cause water disturbance on Tuesday.

The Department of Water Supply will conduct the test between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Customers along Kuhio Street and along Kalanianaole Avenue between Kumau Street and Kauhana Ave., including Ocean View Drive, Kahanu Street, Silva Street and side roads in the area, may be affected by the test.

DWS notes that customers may experience slightly discolored water and turbid water for several hours following the test.

As a precaution, customers should hold off on washing clothes and should prepare for drinking water needs by storing a container for their temporary drinking needs.
