Weekend Pig and Goat Hunting at KMA

huntingKeamuku Maneuver Area will open for bow hunting at Pohakuloa Training Area over the weekend.

On Feb. 27 and Feb. 28, the area will open for bow hunting of pigs and goats only from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

United States Army Garrison-Hawai’i is not allowing entry into recently burned areas, and anyone who sees suspicious activity should report it immediately.

Hunters are required to check in and check out at one of the new Army check-in stations, located in the following areas:

  • Old Saddle Road Gate, across from the Mauna Kea State Park entrance.
  • Mile marker 49.5 gate on Daniel K. Inouye Highway, located about a half-mile from Mamalahoa Highway.
  • Gate 10, near mile marker 53 on Old Saddle Road, one mile from Mamalahoa Highway.

Access to KMA is by foot only, and hunters should park in designated parking areas.

Hunters with disabilities can contact the PTA Game Warden at 969-2429.
