The Hawai’i Police Department reports that Old Government Beach Road in Waa Waa is once against closed due to high surf in the area.

Old Government Beach Road in Waa Waa has reopened.

The roadway was initially closed on Monday afternoon.

Several beach parks are closed as result of high surf conditions hitting the state.

La’aloa Beach Park, Kahalu’u Beach Park, Mahukona Beach Park Wharf side and the Kua Bay portion of Kekaha Kai State Park in West Hawai’i are currently closed.

Old Government Beach Road in Waa Waa, which was closed Monday afternoon, remains closed  on Tuesday. The road is closed in an area south of Kuna Street and about a mile north of Sadileck Road.

A High Surf Warning for north facing shores has been extended through 6 p.m. Tuesday. A High Surf Advisory is also posted for west facing shores.
