A temporary water shut-off along Kapiolani Street, between Lanikaula Street and Kawili Street in South Hilo, will take place between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.

Once water service resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. During that period, customers may notice turbid and discolored water, as well as air trapped in the plumbing. The issues should dissipate as water is used.

Customers should take all necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities, including disabling electrical power to pumps and other devices dependent on water flow or pressure.
