University of Hawai’i at Hilo golfer Kristen Sawada was named the PacWest Conference’s Women’s Golfer of the Week this week.

The conference’s award recognizes rounds played between Feb. 11-17.

Sawada, a senior who graduated from Mililani High School, finished in a tie for 36th place at the Lady Rattler Round-up, hosted by St. Mary’s (TX) at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. She was the top golfer for UH-Hilo at the event, firing a two-day score of 165.

UH-Hilo finished 13th in the team standings.

Holy Names sophomore Matthew Thomas was named the PacWest Conference’s Men’s Golfer of the Week.
