Jordan Kurokawa’s shutout win over the University of Hawai’i earned him one of the top weekly awards from the PacWest Conference.
Kurokawa, a senior from Honolulu, was named the PacWest Pitcher of the Week for games played between Feb. 8-14.
In Saturday night’s 1-0 win over Division I Hawai’i, Kurokawa pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits and two walks while tallying seven strikeouts. Eight Major League Baseball scouts were in attendance, in part to see his work on the mound.
It was the fourth career PacWest Pitcher of the Week award earned by Kurokawa.
Dixie State’s Drew McLaughlin was named PacWest Player of the Week. Hawai’i Pacific University’s Brandon Bonilla, son of former MLB player Bobby Bonilla, was named Newcomer of the Week.
