An American Airlines flight headed to Kona International Airport from Los Angeles International Airport early this afternoon declared an emergency before landing without incident in Kona.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Ian Gregor tells Big Island Now that the aircraft was an Airbus 321 whose emergency declaration was a result of a hydraulic issue.
American Airlines officials say the aircraft landed “safely and taxied to the gate.”
The plane, which had 114 passengers and six crew members landed at 12:30 p.m.
