A 24-hour one lane closure will be added to the Hawai’i Department of Transportation’s list of roadwork projects, beginning Monday, Feb. 1 at 8:30 a.m.

The lane closure will take place on Hawai’i Belt Road at mile marker 15, in the area of Hakalau.

A closure in the area will allow for pavement reconstruction, which is part of the Hawai’i Belt Road Resurfacing project, covering Pepeekeo to Hakalau.

Both lanes of the roadway in the area will be paved, one at a time.

During the closure, traffic will be contra-flowed in the open lane with temporary traffic signals in both direction.

The single lane closure is expected to run through Friday, March 11, weather permitting.
