More than $600,000 in donations were given to various nonprofit organizations and projects during First Insurance Company of Hawai’i’s 2015 season of giving.

Donations from the company in 2015 included $319,140 from the FICOH Charitable Foundation and over $216,470 in FICOH corporate donations.

The University of Hawai’i Foundation, the Honolulu Museum of Art, and the American Heart Association 2016 Heart Walk were among the recipients of funds in 2015.

“One of the core values we emphasize here at First Insurance is building the future for our community,” said Jeff Shonka, First Insurance Chief Executive Officer. “It is our mission to support local organizations that strive to improve Hawai’i’s future.”

In 1998, the FICOH Charitable Foundation was established to serve the local community in four main focus areas, including education, economic development, health and social services, and arts & culture.
