HCC Pālamanui Hosts Distance Learning Meeting
Prospective students interested in learning about Hawai’i Community College’s University Center at Pālamanui and the University of Hawai’i at Manoa Shidler College of Business’ partnered Distance Learning Executive MBA and Masters of Human Resource Management programs are invited to attend an information session on Thursday, Jan. 28.
The meeting will focus on the Fall 2016 Neighbor Island cohort program.
Students in the Distance Learning Executive MBA program combine intensive residential study modules at UH Manoa with state-of-art distance learning technology that transmits video and audio through the internet in real time.
The 22-month program is intended for those living on neighbor islands and for military personnel on Oahu.
In the program, students will expand their business perspectives, sharpen their business skills, build professional networks, and earn their MBA degrees. The EMBA also offers an optional Health Care Management Track.
The 48-credit program is fully accredited by AACSB International and is the only graduate business program in the state ranked by the United States News & World Report.
A five-day residential weekend and 16 Saturday classes at UH Manoa comprise the program. Twenty-one core and elective online courses will be conducted online with a capstone course. Classes will take place online on Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on alternating Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
At the informational meeting, information will also be shared about the MHRM program, a 16-month, 30-credit graduate program delivered through videoconferencing. Classes are held Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on alternating Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both of the programs are slated to begin in the Fall.
Those interested in learning more about the courses offered through the University Center at Pālamanui should attend the Jan. 28 informational meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hawai‘i Community College-Pālamanui, University Center campus. The meeting will be held in Building A, Room 101.
