Kealakehe High School graduate Madison Hauanio has earned her second weekly swimming award from the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference as its Division II Women’s Athlete of the Week.

Hauanio, a senior at Cal State East Bay, notched two individual wins and was a key part in a team relay victory during a dual meet hosted by San Jose State University, a Division I school.

In the 200 backstroke, Hauanio finished a second ahead of teammate Morgan McClure with a time of 2:09:42. Later, she earned a dominant victory in the 200 individual medley, beating the rest of the field by over three seconds with a time of 2:09:14.

Hauanio was the final swimmer for the Pioneers in the 200 medley relay. She swam her leg of the race in :23.21, clinching the victory for her team.

This is the second time that Hauanio has earned the PSCS award. She earned the same award for the week of Oct. 5-11 when she notched four victories in a meet against Mills College. She was also named CollegeSwimming.com’s Division II National Swimmer of the Week during the same month.
