Record Number of Passengers Fly Hawaiian
Hawaiian Airlines reached a record number of travelers over the 2015 calendar year.
Company officials announced Friday that the airline reached 10,672,667 customers, a 4.7 percent increase over its 2014 numbers.
The airline has grown on a yearly basis for the past eleven years, hitting its first one million passengers a year mark in 2014. In comparison, over the 40 year period between 1929 and 1967, the airline hit its first 10 million passengers in total.
In December 2015 alone, Hawaiian Airlines served 904,647 customers, a 3.2 percent increase from the company’s 2014 numbers.
During the company’s fourth quarter, 2,658,269 customers were served increasing over 2014’s numbers of 2,554,350 by 4.1 percent.
Hawaiian Airlines officials say the record number of customers in 2015 marks continued growth as the airline has expanded its network and introduces a variety of enhancements, including the redesign of the premium cabin and enhanced service destinations.
