The Department of Water Supply plans to conduct a fire hydrant flow test within Parker Ranch Center on Friday, Jan. 15 between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

In addition, a fire hydrant flow test is slated for the same day, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. within Waimea Elementary School.

DWS officials say customers along Mamalahoa Highway between Parker Ranch’s Historical Houses Road and Church Road; along with side roads and subdivisions, including Holohooloku, ‘Ahuli Park, and Luala’i; subdivisions along Lindsey Road between Kahilu Theatre and Hoku’ula Road, Waimea Parkside subdivision, and Kapi’olani Road; and Kawihae Road between Lindsey Road and ‘Opelo Road, may be impacted by the hydrant testing.

Customers in the areas should anticipate the potential of slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours following the testing.

It is advised that customers in the surrounding areas refrain from washing clothes and plan ahead for drinking water use.
