Hilo side: Wave heights are expected chest/head high with the best breaks getting up to overhead today.
Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be knee/thigh high today out of the northwest. Just trace amounts out of the south-southwest.
South: Breaks open to the trade swell could get up to chest/head high at the best exposures. Out of the south-southwest surf will be pretty flat.
A new slightly better swell is expected to fill in Thursday night into Friday. A new northwest swell is forecast to fill in Sunday morning and peak in the afternoon. Another reinforcement is expected to build late Sunday and peak early Monday.
A new south-southwest is expected to build this weekend and peak Sunday into Monday around waist/chest high.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
