For the second consecutive week, the Konawaena High School girls basketball team was ranked ninth in MaxPreps’ Xcellent 25 list, which is released every Thursday throughout the season.

Konawaena is currently 10-0 on the season, prior to Tuesday night’s game at Ka’u. The Wildcats have won by an average of 35 points per game, including a 70-point win over Pahoa last Tuesday.

The toughest test coming up on Konawaena’s schedule is the Title IX D.C. Classic, which will be held Dec. 28-30 in Washington, D.C. First up in the tournament is Forestville from Maryland, the only team to beat Konawaena last season.
