UH-Hilo Theft Suspects Sought

Two individuals suspected of stealing from a man at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo are being sought by police.

The individuals were caught on surveillance by UH-Hilo surveillance cameras. Their identities are unknown.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, the pair of individuals approached a man who was working on his computer on the university’s campus at about 4:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The victim was approached by the two suspects, who stole his computer and backpack. The items were recovered before the suspects fled on foot.

Police say the first suspect was wearing a blue tank top, black shorts, light shoes, and a dark baseball cap.

The second suspect had a dark bandana covering his nose and mouth. He also had a gray hooded sweatshirt, cargo shorts, and dark footwear.

Both individuals appear to be in their late teens or early twenties.
